We take the same approach to cookies as to everything else: the minimum needed to make the site work, and nothing designed to follow you around. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files, and similar technologies such as local storage, that a website can place on your device. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember preferences, and — on many sites, though not this one — to track behaviour for advertising.
What we use
This website uses only strictly necessary and functional storage:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| coso-consent | Remembers that you have seen and dismissed our cookie notice, so we do not show it on every page. | Local storage (functional) | Until you clear it |
| Hosting/session | Our host may set a strictly necessary cookie to keep the site secure and balance server load. | Strictly necessary | Session |
Strictly necessary storage does not require your consent because the site cannot function properly without it.
Third-party content
To keep pages fast, some pages load code libraries and web fonts from third-party content-delivery networks. These do not set advertising cookies, but the request itself may allow the provider to log your IP address, as is normal for any internet request. We do not embed social-media pixels, advertising tags, or third-party analytics such as Google Analytics.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or remove them; doing so will not stop you reading this site, though it may mean our cookie notice reappears. Guidance for common browsers is available at aboutcookies.org.
Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary — for example analytics — we will update this policy and ask for your consent first. For more on how we handle personal data, see our privacy policy.
